Then again, I was probably spoiled by how horrible Jack and Jill and Grown Ups 2 were. Don't get me wrong, I'm not suggesting that this is a good film, 1.5 out of 5 stars obviously says that I thought it was bad, but it's better than I was expecting for a Sandler film. So you'd think I'd be wanting to come on here and just rip the film to shreds, but I'm not. Even if you think his films are great, do you REALLY think that they're inspired? This is is nothing against the man himself, who seems incredibly nice and loyal to his friends, which is an admirable trait to have, this is about the 'actor/producer'. The guy is lazy to the core and if you watch his films and you disagree with me, then I don't know what to say to you. It also seems to me that Sandler himself is a smart guy, which is why it's so infuriating to see him do the least he possibly can in order to get a laugh. Do I think the guy is completely untalented? I wouldn't go as far, Reign Over Me and Punch-Drunk Love prove that he has some talent. He gets paid millions of dollars to do nothing but make stupid dick and fart jokes. And he gets paid MILLIONS of dollars to do this. His movies are basically just an excuse for him to go someplace fancy and goof off with his friends. The guy went on national television and admitted this, shamelessly. Ironically enough Sandler's "best" live-action film in about 4-5 years comes on the heels of his admittance, on an appearance on The Jimmy Kimmel Show to promote this movie that his films he makes are basically just paid vacations. So the guy is aware that he produces shit and has even poked fun at himself for it. And Funny People doesn't count either as that is an Apatow film that pokes fun at Sandler's choice in "projects". Also I wouldn't count Hotel Transylvania, a movie that I really liked, because animated movies are a whole other monster. The film in question would be 2010's Just Go With It, a movie that wasn't even that good to begin with. I'm talking about, of course, Adam Sandler. It says something about a man's filmography when this is his best movie in 4, almost 5, years.
